10 years CEEP in Brussels – first association representing energy and energy intensive stakeholders from Central Eastern Europe

10 years ago, in June 2010, Central Europe Energy Partners was established. It was the first Central European organisation representing the energy sector in Brussels. 2010 marked also the beginning of DG Energy, being now responsible for many crucial files in the energy sector. A lot has changed since, however, CEEP is constantly advocating for energy and energy-intensive companies from the region.

Through all these years CEEP was advocating for a more holistic approach to energy and climate policies, making sure that the voice of energy stakeholders from the region is being heard in Brussels. Most importantly raising awareness of the specificities of Central and Eastern European energy systems and the concerns over the security of supply issues. The integration of energy markets, which was one of CEEP’s goals, was significantly progressed with the Energy Union.

Currently the big challenge is the Just Energy Transition and the fulfilment of the European Green Deal. CEEP is organising debates and seminars with experts and stakeholder, always working together with the European Institutions, in order to share knowledge and experience of the Central Europe energy transition process.

During 10 years CEEP organised and presented the following:

  • 4 Central European Days of Energy
  • 6 CEEP Energy Summits
  • 30 debates in Brussels and in the region
  • 59 editions of the CEEP reports
  • 20 CEEP position papers
  • 12 analytical reports
  • 8 partnerships with CEE think tanks and associations
  • ….and gained hundreds of friends and partners!
