What model of electricity market design needed for Central and South-Eastern Europe?

Almost one and a half year after publication of the Clean Energy for All Europeans package, it is possible to say that the end of the legislative process is visible. Visible doesn’t mean near.

Common set of rules enacted at the European level should be able to accommodate the diversity of energy mixes within the EU as well as different particularities of Member States’ energy systems. It should
be also designed in accordance with the technology neutrality
principle.

In this regard, we would like to focus on Central and South-Eastern
Europe’s perspective, a region with its own set of energy transition and decarbonisation specificities.

Particular topics include:

• Role of capacity markets and the impact of EPS 550 on generation adequacy
• Management of cross-border flows of electricity – role of regional cooperation
• Design of bidding zones
